In this course you will explore the beautiful and intricate world of botanical illustration. Several natural specimens will be interpreted expressively and illustrated in detail. Photographs will also be used as reference. Participants may work in the medium of choice including: graphite, watercolour, ink, acrylic, pastel or coloured pencils, or any combination of media.
Drawing demonstrations will cover structure analysis, lighting and composition. Painting demos (watercolour) will include colour mixing, wet on dry, dry-brush and wet on wet techniques. This course is suitable to all levels.

Please join us as 16 churches from the Pembroke area present this year's World Day of Prayer service at 2:00pm and again at 7:00pm. Come to St Timothy's Lutheran Church, 503 Alfred Street, for a service written by the women of Suriname, South America on the theme "All God's Creation is very good!". Refreshments and fellowship will follow each service. All are welcome.

This evening is open to the public. There will be a presentation on what can be viewed in the spring night sky using binoculars or a small telescope. Also, various styles of telescopes and binoculars will be set up and basic information will be given for anyone interested in astronomy. Members of the club will be there to answer any questions you may have.

Through a public nomination process, we wish to highlight the outstanding women from our community who will be honoured at our Celebration on the evening of Thursday,May 10th at the Brockville Convention Centre. We are looking to recognize women who exemplify the traits - strong, smart and bold.
Any woman 18 years of age or older who is a resident of Leeds-Grenville may be nominated. Staff and board members of Girls Inc. are not eligible. Feel free to nominate
more than one worthy candidate. Also, women who were nominated in previous years but not honoured may be nominated again this year. The deadline for nominations is March 20th. Clan Hannigan is an intergenerational family band based out of Baltimore Ontario that takes traditional Irish music and blends it with elements of Jazz, Pop, and other folk traditions, to create a unique high energy sonic soundscape.
