Join GRCA’s Fisheries Biologist at the Garden Hill Conservation Area for this fun and educational event learning how to fish. You’ll walk away knowing how to rig, bait and cast a fishing rod, identify local fish species, and fish safely and sustainably. If you have your own fishing gear, please bring it; otherwise, equipment can be borrowed through OFAH’s TackleShare Program which will be on-site. $15.00 + HST/participant. The Ganaraska Forest is beautiful year-round, but especially in the winter. You’ll want to keep coming back to explore the forest after you experience it on a pair of skis or snowshoes! Receive an intro to cross-country skiing followed by a guided ski through the forest; then try out free snowshoeing! 

$25.00 + HST/participant includes equipment rental. Refundable equipment deposit required.

Two sessions to choose from: 9:30 am & 1:00 pm. Pre-registration & payment required by calling the GRCA at 905.885.8173.

In case of poor conditions, the alternate day to participate will be February 3rd.

On Tuesday, November 14, at 7:30 p.m., librarian Jo Stanbridge will give a slideshow and talk about how to use the library's genealogy resources, including the popular subscription service Ancestry Library Edition. This event is open to all, but seating is limited. To avoid disappointment, please register in advance.
