Join us at our Book Launch for Powered by Love. A Grandmothers’ Movement to End AIDS in Africa. This book tells the story of the indomitable Grandmothers of Africa working to hold their families and communities together in the face of great loss, and over 10 years, developing a social movement focused on empowering women and children. Meet our guests from Africa and enjoy light refreshments. Book sales by Novel Idea.

We’re back! Our popular downtown Market for Africa returns for its 10th year in Kingston. Saturday, November 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Hellenic Hall, 121 Johnson St., Kingston, Ont. (across from Kingston Frontenac Public Library). Admission is free.

We offer a bowl of soup for lunch, and shopping for gifts from Africa and beyond. Grannies’ baking and other goodeats, hand made treasures, pre-loved jewelry, art and clothing. African baskets and Christmas Treasures. We always offer a surprise or 2, come visit to find out what this year will offer.

Funds raised support projects in Africa, through the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmother to Grandmother Campaign and Help Lesotho.
