The award-winning show for babies that transforms everyday objects into fabulous, fanciful phenomena.

As they develop and thrive, babies use all of their senses to learn about the world. In this play, performers engage with the audience using music, enticing visuals, and tactile experiences. Participants sit on floor pillows, enabling parents and caregivers to interact closely with their infants. When the show is over, kids and adults can experiment with objects from the play right on the set to have their own additional playtime experience.

Carousel Players is proud to present the Niagara tour of this innovative work of theatre created specifically for infants, which received Dora Mavor Moore Awards for Outstanding New Play and Outstanding Performance, Ensemble.

Come out on Wednesday, January 31 from 9:30am-11:30am for a free learning event in in Kingsville to learn more about the steps to transitioning your child into school, and how to partner with educators. It will be held at ACCESS, 23 Mill St., Kingsville. Be sure to register by Friday, January 26.

from the book by Kyo Maclear & Isabelle Arsenault (Kids Can Press).

One morning, Virginia wakes up in an inexplicably “wolfish” mood. Everything light is turning dark. Her sister Vanessa becomes increasingly desperate to cheer Virginia up. Finally, Virginia offers a suggestion: she would be happy again if she could go to Bloomsberry, a perfect place “with absolutely no doldrums.” Can Vanessa paint a world vibrant enough to draw Virginia out of bed?

Community Event - Smiths Falls/Perth/North Grenville - Eye See-Eye Learn Not for Profit Program for Kid

 Eye See – Eye Learn, is a not-for-profit program designed to detect, diagnose and treat children with vision problems. A campaign is now underway to provide eye exams and complimentary glasses to Junior Kindergarten children in Eastern Ontario, which includes Lanark Leeds-Grenville and Ottawa. A free Skate and Helmet Lending Library is available at the North Grenville Municipal Centre in Kemptville, during all public skating hours. Equipment will be signed out and signed back in at the arena by a Municipal staff member. Valid photo identification will be required to borrow equipment. Skate aids for those who are still learning to stand on two skates also available. The goal of the Lending Library is to increase physical activity for all ages, with the availability of helmets in all sizes, to reinforce the importance of safety and preventing head injuries while on the ice.

While Alzheimer's is a central theme, it is not the only tone of this story. "Strangers Among Us" is a play about love, denial, acceptance, and family secrets. Two people meet and eventually fall in love while they and their families deal with some of the issues that can be associated with Alzheimer's. There are 10 characters in the show and each has their moment to shine while adding to the layering and movement of telling this compelling story.

Play Description: Daniel is having trouble both at school and at home. All he wants to do is escape into his own world with his friend Izzy and listen to the rapper Arrow. The adults in his life deliver an ultimatum. Will Daniel find a way to balance expectations and his own freedom?
