November 25 & 26 the River Lights Winter Festival presents its 5th annual Holiday House Tour in beautiful Amherstburg. Rotary LaSalle Calls for Humanitarian Award Nominations! Who May Apply? Any citizen of the Town of LaSalle 18 years of age or older. Preference will be given to those who have worked on water, health, or education projects. The Rotary Club of LaSalle Centennial Awards Committee will conduct the selection of the deserving candidate. Please include photographs and/or reports supporting the submission. Windsor on Watch, a local environmental and social justice community organization, and the local chapter of the Council of Canadians are sponsoring a public forum on November 18 to talk about the Leap Manifesto and its implications for our community. The event will be held in downtown Windsor at the University’s Social Work Building at 167 Ferry St. from 2-4pm. It is a free event and open to public.

St. John Ambulance ‘Home Alone’ Course at Wallaceburg Branch, CKPL
CKPL is partnering with St. John Ambulance to offer the Home Alone course at Wallaceburg Branch on Friday, November 24 – a P.A. day. The course will run from 10:15 am to 1:15 pm. Registration can be done through the St. John Ambulance website https://portal.sja.ca or by phone 1-877-726-9928. There is a cost of $35, payable through St. John Ambulance.
Home Alone is designed for 9 and 10 year old youth by the Canadian Safety Council. This course will prepare participants to handle unforeseen emergencies and stay safe when they are alone. Participants learn how to handle phone calls and visitors, recognize hazards, follow home safety procedures, first aid basics, healthy eating, fire safety, and how and when to use 911.
