All CKPL branches have a small variety of native plant seeds available for check out. This seed library contains native plant seeds for many popular local plants including Black-Eyed Susan, Butterfly Weed, Swamp and Common Milkweed, Purple Coneflower, and New England Asters to name a few. All you need is a valid CKPL library card and you can check out 5 packages of seeds.

Tai Chi Classes

The County Seniors’ Centre will be offering beginner and continuing Tai Chi from September 30 to December 16. The cost is $12.00, for Active Living Program members. 

  • Continuation Class -Tuesdays 10:30am – 11:30am at the Bloomfield Town Hall
  • Beginner Class- Thursday’s 10:30am – 11:30am at the Bloomfield Town Hall

Join the County Seniors’ Centre for a series of informative webinars this September — designed to help older adults stay informed, engaged, and living well at home. Upcoming webinars include Humus and Humour – backyard composting with naturalist Terry Sprague on Wednesday, September 2; join us Tuesday, September 16 for an in-person presentation to learn about the expanding scope of practice of community pharmacists and the newly authorized pharmacist prescribing for minor ailments and available clinical services at community pharmacies with Karl Sitarski, Pharmacist and owner of County Drugstore in Picton. Alzheimer Society First Link Program is a referral program designed to help newly diagnosed people with dementia and their families get the help they need as soon as possible. Curbside pick-up meal on Thursday, September 18 - pick-up at Elks Lodge, 21 Elk Street, Picton

Prince Edward Community Care holds monthly curbside pick-up meals. This event is on Thursday, September 18. Kelly Bannister is preparing a scrumptious meal of roast pork, fresh roasted potatoes, fresh vegetables, soup, salad, bun and dessert. The cost is $20.00/ per meal. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at noon at the Elks Lodge. To order call 613-476-7493. Delivery can be arranged for seniors who require it.
