The Ciociaro Club of Windsor is delighted to partner once again with the Alzheimer Society of Windsor-Essex to host the Battle of the Brains Dinner & Trivia Challenge XI! This has become one of Southwestern Ontario’s “must attend” charity events, having previously set a record of 1,200 people in attendance, making it the largest live charity-run quiz fundraiser in North America. It was also selected by the readers of Windsor’s Biz X Magazine in 2017 as the winner of that publication’s prestigious “Most Wonderful Event of the Year” award. Participants do not have to be any sort of Jeopardy! whiz to come out and have a great meal and a wonderful time, all while supporting a great cause. On-line ticket sales are now “live”. Sponsorships are also available (please call Eugene van Wyk at the Alzheimer Society: 974-2220).

Kingston Symphony Orchestra

Charlie Rosen of the 8-Bit Big Band put it best when he said that music written for video games has amassed enough of a body of work that we now truly have a contemporary songbook of standards, in the tradition of the Jazz or American songbooks. In this concert, Swedish video game music concert producer Orvar Säfström and the Kingston Symphony showcase some of the best video game music, with selections from Mario, Zelda, Final Fantasy, and much, much more. This is a celebration of incredible music from the chiptunes of the Nintendo Entertainment System to the video game music of today!
