Join Oakville Galleries artist instructor Becky D’Onofrio each month for a free art workshop inspired by Oakville Galleries’ beautiful location.

1:30 – 3 PM

As part of Culture Days, enjoy a Family Art Workshop with us in lovely Gairloch Gardens! This program will include a brief tour of our surrounding gardens as well as a hands-on art making activity in our Education Centre. A caregiver must accompany their child(ren) for the duration of the program. All materials are provided.

This program is free of charge; pre-registration is required. Limited to seven (7) households with a maximum of four (4) people per household. A single (1) caregiver from the household must register.

Our Family Art Workshops run rain or shine, participants should dress accordingly for the weather and alternative indoor venue spaces will be provided should the weather not cooperate.

Take a guided tour through Gairloch Gardens and learn how to sketch en plein air!

Celebrate Culture Days at Oakville Galleries! In this Children's Workshop, your young artist, with their sketchbook in hand, will take a guided tour through Gairloch Gardens and learn how to sketch en plein air! Our artist instructor, Becky D’Onofrio will lead young artists through the Gardens where they will discover contemporary art installations, learn a bit about the significant history of the treaty lands that Oakville Galleries in Gairloch Gardens is located on, and discover the challenges and joys of sketching outdoors.

This program is free of charge for ages 6-12 years old; pre-registration is mandatory for each attendee.

The workshop will run rain or shine, participants should dress accordingly for the weather and alternative indoor venue spaces will be provided should the weather not cooperate.

On Thursday September 22, Volunteer Halton is pleased to welcome Erin Spink, MA, as she kick-starts the Data Literacy For Leaders of Volunteers workshop series with a workshop on "Data Collection:  Overview & Assessment". What do you measure as a benchmark of success in your volunteer program?  In this first workshop, join us to learn more about the pros/cons of different data collection methods and how to identify gaps and opportunities in the data you currently collect.  Part II and Part III of this series will focus on creating a data collection toolkit and how to tell better stories through data.
