The North Bay Symphony Orchestra (NBSO) is delighted to invite families to the "Meet the Orchestra" family concert, a captivating event designed to introduce children to the world of symphonic music. This special performance is scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Capitol Centre, located at 150 Main Street E, North Bay, Ontario.

Instrument Petting Zoo:

Beginning at 5:30 PM, children will have the unique opportunity to engage directly with various orchestral instruments through an Instrument Petting Zoo. This interactive session features stations dedicated to different instrument families:

  • Percussion Instruments: Discover the rhythms that drive the orchestra.
  • Brass Instruments: Experience the bold sounds of the brass section.
  • Woodwind Instruments: Explore the melodies of woodwind instruments.
  • String Instruments: Feel the harmonies of the string family.

Musicians from the NBSO will guide participants, ensuring a safe, sanitized, and educational experience. This hands-on opportunity allows children to try instruments in a fun and engaging setting.

Concert Highlights:

At 6:30 PM, the concert will feature excerpts from renowned pieces, including:

  • Overtures to William Tell and The Marriage of Figaro
