Tri-County Literacy Council is pleased to offer a FREE Cashier Training to the community. If you enjoy working with people, this course may be for you. The training will focus on setting you up to be successful in the retail sector. As a store's face, eyes, and ears, the cashier is one of the most important positions in a retail setting.

Community Event - Niagara - Laugh with Us Comedy Show Fundraiser Sept. 15, 7PM
Happy in my Home, Community Support Services of Niagara and Garden City Comedy Festival have teamed up to bring you a night of laughter that only experienced comics can bring you. It’s going to be a wonderful night of laughs. Gather some family, friends, coworkers and come have some fun!
Proceeds go to helping local seniors and adults with disabilities with support services such as Meals on Wheels, transportation to and from medical appointments, grocery order/delivery, homemaking and more, allowing our clients to remain independent, safe and Happy in their Homes. These services not only help our clients, they also help to ease the caregivers load of responsibility and worry about their loved one.

Community Event - Kingston - Kingston Symphony Volunteers Book Fair is back!
Attention Kingston-area readers: Circle Thursday, September 7, 2023 on your calendars! That’s opening day of the wildly popular, not-to-be-missed annual Book Fair presented by the Kingston Symphony Volunteers.
When: Thursday, September 7 to Sunday, September 17, 2023
Where: Kingston Symphony Warehouse at 785 Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard, Unit 7A.
Opening Night: Early Bird tickets will be available for $20, giving you access to the sale from 4 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on opening night only. A total of 50 Early Bird tickets will be sold online at store.kingstonsymphony.ca. When the sale officially starts at 4:30 p.m., admission will be $5 (tickets at the door). Entry is free for all other days of the sale.
One of Kingston’s hidden gems, the Kingston Symphony Warehouse is overflowing with thousands of paperbacks and hard-cover books that have been quality checked and sorted by dozens of volunteers. As well as the usual broad selection of categories, this year’s sale also features:
- A huge sci-fi/fantasy section
- Many, many $2 books, including:
All pocketbooks
Older fiction and mysteries
Short story collections
Classics, in editions published before 2000
"In addition to our typically strong sections of mystery, fiction, and Canadiana, we have an unusually large collection of classic sci-fi as well as fantasy and horror this year,” said Tom Pynn, co-chair of the Book Fair. "With more books available than ever before, you will love perusing the selection."

Although masks aren’t mandatory, we will happily supply you with one. If you are not feeling well, we ask you to please wait to attend the Book Fair until you are better.

Experience the local harvest at our annual, fall-favourite event!
The Taste Real Fall Rural Romp is a self-guided tour of local farms, markets and local food locations in Centre Wellington, Erin, Guelph/Eramosa, Puslinch, and the City of Guelph.
This is your chance to get up close to your food, experience a day in the countryside, meet local farmers, eat, learn about food and experience the local bounty. At each location, you will find farmers and business owners who are passionate about bringing real taste and local food to you.
