Curbside pickup meal for seniors on June 29th, 2023 – pick up in Demorestville

Prince Edward Community Care holds monthly curbside pick-up of meals.  The June event is on Thursday, June 29th, 2023. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions Catering is preparing a scrumptious meal of homemade soup, a roll, chicken breast stuffed with brie and cranberry, potatoes, vegetables, and fruit pie for dessert. The cost is $18.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at Sophiasburgh Town Hall, 2771 County Road 5, Demorestville. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. Please join us at Smithville United Church for this concert fundraising event featuring the OPP Chorus! This group travels around Ontario sharing their wide repertoire of music and are proud to be celebrating 25 years together. We are excited to have them sing for us and the community. We have plenty of free parking and are wheelchair accessible. This is a “Free Will Offering” event. Light refreshments will be provided after the concert. No tickets required. The St. Francis de Sales Knights will be serving their next Community Roast Beef Dinner on Thursday, June 8th in the St. Francis de Sales Parish Hall (434 Second St. W.) from 4:30 PM to 6:00 PM.   Complete dinner including coleslaw, dinner roll, roast beef entre, mashed potatoes, vegetable, dessert and beverage.  All are welcome.  Fully accessible hall with elevator service provided.  Adults $15.00, under 12 year $5.00.

These Community Roast Beef Dinners are presented to raise funds in support of the Knights of Columbus Council's charitable programs in the Cornwall community.

Free computer classes for adults in Microsoft Excel and Word basics at the Niagara Learning Centre in St. Catharines. Eight-morning classes starting June 27th. Held twice a week. Community Event - Cornwall - Child Haven Strawberry Festival Fundraiser

Child Haven will have a Strawberry Social fundraiser on June 11th, from 3 to 5 pm at the Benson Centre. Senator Bernadette Clement will officiate at the event and Dr. Nat Shah and Bonnie and Fred Cappuccino, who founded Child Haven in 1985, will be in attendance. Dr. Shah will be fêted for the most recent of many honours granted to him, namely, an honorary diploma for Humanitarianism, awarded to him by St. Lawrence College on June 2, 2023. Bonnie and Fred Cappuccino will be celebrated for their platinum wedding anniversary. They were married 70 years ago in 1953. 

The event will feature an update on the Child Haven homes and projects in India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Tibet-in-China. Musical entertainment will be provided by Marc Muir of Muir's Music Manor. Exotic eastern goods will be offered in a silent auction and light refreshments will be catered by Judy Stewart.

Join the Belleville Kiwanis Club for their fundraiser supporting Kiwanis Children's Programs happening on July 1st, 2023 from 9:30am to 12:00pm at the Tom Gavey Pavillion in West Zwicks Park.  Breakfast is $10 fpr Adults and $5 for kids and comes with pancakes with maple syrup and sausages!  For more info go to the Kiwanis Club of Belleville's Facebook page!
