The 2023 Oakville Film Festival is celebrating a decade as Oakville’s only independent film festival and will run from June 21-27th 2023.
For our 10th anniversary, we will also be offering FREE TICKETS to anyone 21 years of age and under (pending availability), to any of our festival screenings at Film.ca.
This year’s lineup includes over 100 films, including 13 Canadian features and documentaries, and nine other feature films and documentaries from around the world including: UK, USA, India, Germany, Ukraine, and Cambodia. In addition, you can watch 79 short films from all over the world, and enjoy conversations with filmmakers and special events with some screenings.
Festival Launch: National Indigenous People’s Day June 21, 2023 at The Five Drive-In Oakville with the Canadian Premiere of THE BEEHIVE, from Writer/Director Alexander Lasheras, and a special Gala evening highlighting Indigenous film, song, and dance. This event is hosted by the Five Drive-In, and partners include: Grandmother’s Voice, 101 Deweguns, and the Town of Oakville.

Volunteer Halton and The Town of Halton Hills are pleased to present another Building Strong Organizations in Halton Hills workshop on Tuesday June 6, 2023 at 6:30pm.Delivered via ZOOM, this workshop focuses on orientation, training, and supervising volunteers.
Orientation, Training and Supervision of Volunteers
What are the core components you should be training your volunteers on? What policies and legislation should volunteers know? We will keep it practical in this workshop by arming you with the tools on the who, what and how of orientation and training.
Be the Leader your Volunteers need! We will discuss leadership styles and the best ways to provide the best volunteer experience for your volunteers. The workshop will cover core concepts around the structures and supports needed to offer meaningful and impactful opportunities and experiences.
When: Tuesday June 6, 2023 - 6:30pm – 8:30pm

Fee: $35 + tax
