Celebrate the conclusion of our Adult Summer Reading Club 2023 with an afternoon of bookish conversation and snacks. Meet fellow ASRC readers and chat about the books and reading challenges you enjoyed this summer. There will be special draw prizes for ASRC participants!

Community Event - Milton/Halton Hills - Milton Historical Society Gourmet & Spirits Dinner
Milton Historical Society will host its annual Gourmet & Spirits Fundraising Dinner on Tuesday October 17 and Tuesday October 24, 2023, at 6 p.m. at La Toscana Restaurant, 165 Main Street East in beautiful downtown Milton. This year's theme is The Show Must Go On, featuring a presentation by noted local historian John McDonald about the history of entertainment, arts and culture in Milton. The cost is $90 per person. Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Friends of the Library Fall Book Sale
The Friends of the Peterborough Public Library will host their Fall Book Sale on Friday, October 20th and Saturday, October 21st. The Sale begins on Friday at 12:00 noon and continues until 7 p.m. The hours on Saturday are 10:00 a.m. until 3 pm. There will be rare books dating from the early 20th century right through to current bestsellers. Many categories of non-fiction books can be found and we offer a varied selection of mysteries. We have a wide array of children’s books from baby’s first book to young adult fiction. Whatever category of book you're looking for, there's a good chance you'll find it at our Sale. The earlier you come, the better your chances. All proceeds from our sale will be donated to the Peterborough Public Library for special programming. We look forward to seeing you there.
