Forest bathing walks, also known as shinrin-yoku, are immersive experiences that allow you to connect with the healing qualities of nature on a deeper level. Originating in Japan, this practice encourages mindful exploration of forests, engaging all your senses for rejuvenation and mental well-being.
The guided walks are slower and more deliberate than a typical hike. You are led by a guide through practices known as ‘invitations’, that will engage all your senses – sound, sight, touch, taste, smell and more! For example, noticing the textures of the trees and plants, the feeling of your feet on the ground, the fragrance of the forest, the songs of birds, and the gentle rustling of leaves or gushing of running water.
The Forest Bathing walk will be led by April McClellan, a Friends of Laurier Woods Director and founder of True Nature North.
The number of participants is limited to 15, so please register on the Laurier Woods Facebook page link at https://forms.gle/VbTkQ23brmnPufEy6
