Community Living North Grenville is hosting a Comedy Night
An 8-week experiential group inspired by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). ACT demonstrates building psychological flexibility in the face of circumstances we cannot control. The aim is to act in accordance with our own individual and meaningful values. Held Tuesdays, April 4th to May 23rd from 5 to 7 p.m. in the SVCHC Community Room. A six-week in-person cooking program for all ages with a focus on planning and preparing meals for one or two. Session topics include planning and preparing balanced meals, shopping for nutritious foods on a budget, and preparing and storing food safely. Enjoy all in the company of new friends. Held Tuesdays, March 21st to April 25th from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the SVCHC Community Room, 353 Pitt Street. Diagnosis - Congestive Heart Failure - Information Session with local Cardiologist Dr. George Farag. If you are a loved one have been diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure (CHF) this evening is for you. Dr. Farag will explain the basics of CHF including signs and symptoms, treatment options, local education & exercise programs and answers to general questions. Join us for a free program will include traditional music and dance, a live recital offered by Turkish, Iranian and Ukrainian guest artists from Montreal and Toronto. We will also celebrate International Women's Day and will meditate for Mother Earth. This will be a multi-cultural event focused on inner peace, mental wellness and will offer everyone in our community a sense of belonging, especially those who immigrated recently to Canada due to violence and wars in their countries. Everybody will also receive a traditional handcrafted souvenir born from Romanian spring traditions.
PIE Dinner - Public, Intentional and Explicit in support of the 2SLBGTQIA+ community - The dinner will be held Tuesday, March 14 5:30-6:30 pm at St. Luke’s United Church, at the corner of Indian and Wellington. On the menu is Shepherd’s Pie (Meat and Vegan), Vegan Coleslaw and Rolls, Pies (Gluten free and Vegan) and Ice Cream. Cost is a Freewill Offering. Sheerah Mae Heartt, is your new Queen on the block, will be serving dinner, performing a song or two and hold a Q & A after dinner. This is an all ages event and everyone is welcome.
