The Training Active Bystanders (TAB) program helps participants recognize when they are bystanders, analyze situations, and evaluate the consequences for everyone involved. TAB heightens bystanders’ power. It teaches how bystanders can interrupt harm doing and generate positive actions by others. Active bystandership does not mean aggression against the harm doer. It means taking responsible action to help people in need instead of remaining passive and becoming complicit. Bystanders gain the competencies they need if they decide to take action when they witness something they feel is unfair, wrong or troubling.
Training Active Bystanders (TAB) is a free and virtual workshop scheduled on March 1, 2023; 1:00-3:30 PM.

Are you a racialized person or immigrant, 18 years of age or older, who has experienced discrimination in Niagara in the last three years?
Individuals, who have experienced discrimination in a workplace setting, in a public place, or by the police, are invited to consider participating in a virtual interview with researchers at Western University. Please fill out the short pre-screen questionnaire at Discrimination Interview - Network for Economic and Social Trends - Western University (uwo.ca) and researchers will contact you. Pre-screen questionnaires are available in multiple languages.
It is important to share your feedback to help Niagara become more inclusive and welcoming.
