Celebration of Nations returns to St. Catharines’ FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre from Fri 9 Sept to Sun 11 Sept with extensive in-person and virtual programming that showcases the incredible talents and proud achievements of Indigenous peoples. With over 40 in-person events, many with virtual broadcasts, and a combination of ticketed, pay-what-you-can and free admission options, this three-day Indigenous Arts Gathering offers something for everyone.  

This year’s lineup includes performances by Buffy Sainte-MarieShawnee Kish (10 Sept), as well as a special First Ladies of Jazz concert presented in partnership with the TD Niagara Jazz Festival (9 Sept).

Engaging options for cultural discovery include daily sunrise, storytelling and sacred fire ceremonies with Indigenous Elders, an interactive Indigenous Discovery Zone and hands-on workshops that allow participants to try crafting traditional Indigenous items, including pottery, drums, moccasins, and jewellery. 

Community Event - Windsor/Leamington - Marathon hill climb to benefit the Humane Society

24 hour hillclimb challenge to walk 250 individual dogs up the hill. Each dog will do a 2 1/2 minute revolution up and down the hill. Event begins at 8am 10 September at Malden Park. Proceeds to WECHS Windsor Essex County humane society. Call 519-919-0743 To arrange for a time slot for you and your furry friend to be part of this Guinness world record attempt.

Featuring the delightfully charming guest artist duo, French Squeeze (Jacques Arsenault and Marjorie Maltais) performing with Cantabile, LA VIE EN ROSE includes arrangements of well-known French songs from the Champs-Élysées to the shores of St. Lawrence.


With French Squeeze adding vocals and original accordion accompaniment to hits by Édith Piaf, Charles Trenet, Jacques Brel, Alys Robi, and La Bolduc, LA VIE EN ROSE ends Cantabile's concert season on a whimsical, rose-coloured note.

MAKE IT MUSICAL! is the culmination of a season-long project involving the creation of a new musical, co-created by Cantabile's Grande choir, award-winning Canadian composer Chris Thornborrow, and theatre designer Madeline McKinnell. Conducted and curated by guest conductor Dr. Jamie Hillman, CANADIANA is an ode to the multicultural musical landscape of Canada, featuring works exclusively by Canadian composers.


Still under 40, Dr. Hillman is the newly-appointed Director of Choral Studies at the University of Toronto and a burgeoning star of the choral world. His career as a choral conductor, composer, tenor soloist, and pianist has taken him across Canada, the US, as well as France, India, and Indonesia.

As the days grow shorter and the cold starts to settle in, the songs of winter offer warmth and brightness that mark the changing of the seasons and time with family and friends.


A beloved annual tradition for many, Cantabile’s December concerts are a mix of traditional carols and seasonal music from around the world – a festive musical journey to light up the dark nights with our collective winter song.


This concert features the premiere performance of ‘River Snow’ by Qiushi Jiang, 1st-place prize winner of Cantabile’s inaugural 2022 BIPOC Song Competition.

This year, the 11th annual Turkey Trot will happen Thanksgiving Monday (October 10th) and
we are back and in-person!

The Turkey Trot has always been about creating a family friendly local event that supports the 
YMCA Strong Communities Campaign
- supporting children, teens, adults and seniors in our community who are in need of assistance by eliminating financial barriers. 

We offer a fun experience that provides much needed funds to the YMCA to allow them to continue their great work helping individuals and families.

Not only do you get to have fun and help the community, you have the chance to win an amazing prize by random drawings.
