Positions are open for woodwind, brass and percussion players with beginner music experience or more.

A cabaret style entertainment event with singing, dancing, trivia and more sponsored by the Town of Oakville. The theme this year is Headin' for Hollywood and the acts will have a movie theme.
Registration for fall recreation programs opens Aug. 20
Burlington, Ont.—Aug. 10, 2022— The City of Burlington’s fall recreation programs will open for online registration on Saturday, Aug. 20. Adult program registration begins at 9 a.m. and swimming and youth program registrations begin at 11 a.m.
All programs are currently available for viewing online at burlington.ca/recreation.
Adult programs include sports, games, fitness, craft and art activities, social events, discussion and learning options and more for adults of all ages and skill levels. In-person and virtual courses are offered.
Aquatics offers a variety of programs to keep you and your family active, including youth, adult and private swim lessons, leadership courses and more. Join in the fun and sign up for preschool, school age, youth, or leadership programs.
Meet new friends, stay active or learn something new at student theatre, the music centre, or one of our other recreation facilities. If you are looking for something fun to do during school breaks, PA Day programming, and winter break camps are available. If you are interested in joining the Junior Redcoats or Burlington Teen Tour Band, email bttb@burlington.ca for more information.

Recreation Fee Assistance

Harvest Fest 2022 will celebrate Niagara's goodness at a 2-day community event hosted by the Knights of Columbus 2319 at Holy Rosary Hall, 35 Queen St. S. Thorold on September 10th and 11th. The event will feature craft vendors, a food court, as well as fresh potted moms, a selection of squash, among other fruits and vegetables for buyers. Lawn and gardening products including fall fertilizers, grass seed, and compost will be on sale. A Safety Village for kids will showcase the Thorold Fire Department on- location for a Touch-a-Fire-Truck display and fire safety tips as well as NRPS “garage 529” bike registry and bike safety. A White Elephant Sale will be set up inside the hall like an indoor garage sale.
The Knights will be collecting non perishable foods to support the St. Vincent de Paul Food Bank. Visitors can also support a charitable bottle drive by dropping off beverage alcohol containers purchased in Ontario on which a deposit has been paid. Proceeds from the fundraising event will support Wellspring Niagara and Hospice Niagara. It's free entry for all thanks to event sponsors Bocchinfuso Funeral Home, Big Red Market, Impact Promotions and Thorold Foodland. Harvest Fest is an invitation by the K of C and Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church for the community to come together.
Calling all male allies! Come join The Women’s Centre of Halton on August 18th at the Sherwood Community Centre.
MILTON, August 18th, 2022- The Women’s Centre of Halton is inviting all male allies to Bro Yoga on Thursday, August 18th at 7:00pm to the Sherwood Community Centre (6355 Main Street) in Milton. This “pay-what-you-can" event will feature a power yoga session held by Mark Harrington, followed by a sampling of Vibe Hard Kombucha. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards funding programs and services ran by The Women’s Centre of Halton, to support women in the community.

World Suicide Prevention Day (September 10th)
Join us for an afternoon of WSPD activities Cornwall Public Library (Room 1 & 2) (Cornwall, ON) from 1 - 3 pm. Activities include: • Well-being activity – Word of Welcome • Guest speaker- Testimonial • Community booths and prizes • Living Works Community Impact Award will presented to a community organization or individual making a difference in our community. Through action, you can make a difference to someone in their darkest moments – as a member of society, as a child, as a parent, as a friend, as a colleague or as a neighbour. We all play a role in supporting those experiencing a suicidal crisis or those bereaved by suicide. This event will provide awareness and resources to support the prevention of suicide. Wellness basket draw valued at $75 must attend event to be entered.
