Join Muskoka Heritage Place in celebrating Heritage Week February 20-26, 2023. Heritage Week is an annual opportunity in Ontario to celebrate heritage, traditions, and cultural expressions. For the entire week, enjoy free admission to the Muskoka Museum and learn all about what life was like in Muskoka in the 1880s. Explore the featured exhibit A Tough Go – The Earliest Years of Settlement.

Everyone is welcome to take part in the Museums scavenger hunt where you can be entered into a draw for a free one-year family membership to the entire Muskoka Heritage Place experience, including the Village, Museums and Train for two adults and two children.

Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Patrick Boyer local author of the novel Putting Muskoka on the Map: From Indigenous Wayfinding to Satellite Imaging, the  first edition of his Modern History of Muskoka series portraying the centuries-long drama which proves that putting Muskoka on a map was neither easy nor simple. Boyer will provide an author talk and book signing at the Muskoka Museum Saturday, February 25 at 10:30am.

In addition, Muskoka Museum is offering discounts in the gift shop of up to 50% off select items which feature local artisan wares, keepsakes, paintings, candle, Victorian games and much, much more…

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the season of lent, a time of fasting, penitence, and self-reflection.  We will have two Holy Communion services on Ash Wednesday, February 22nd  at 11:45am and 7pm.  The services will include the imposition of ashes.  All are welcome!

Gallery in the Grove’s Scotiabank & Scotia Wealth Management Call Out for Colour: A Juried Exhibition opens on March 4th from 11am-3pm with an Award Presentation at 1pm. Artists from all over Southwestern Ontario explored their artistic vision under the “Colour” theme and the artwork ranges from realism to abstraction. Exhibit runs until April 22.
