Upon the birth of his daughter, Jeremy Fisher began writing and recording children’s music under the moniker Jeremy Fisher Junior to bring music and storytelling into her everyday life. Jeremy saw the many benefits music had for his daughter – it got her going, it calmed her down, it gave her a framework to express emotions and learn about the world. He knew music could give the same amazing benefits to other children.

In 2019, Jeremy began collaborating with Vérité Films and Hidden Pony Records to create Jeremy and Jazzy and bring his music to life through incredible animated characters that show us how feelings become songs, songs become stories, and music and friendship create joy. He is thrilled to reach more kids with the magic of music with the release of the animated series and Say Hello, a 26-song collection of Jeremy and Jazzy songs.

With the success of Jeremy’s debut children’s album, Highway to Spell, Jeremy performed his songs and stories to kids, parents, caregivers, and educators in theatre venues, festivals, schools and in online concerts reaching Canadians from coast to coast. His performances are entertaining and interactive and illustrate how music can help kids, parents, and everyone face their emotions. They also demonstrate that a visual element helps enhance the benefits of music for kids.

Community Event - Burlington/Oakville - Classic Albums Live LED ZEPPELIN - Led Zeppelin II

BPAC favourite Classic Albums Live and its roster of A-list musicians from across the country will be performing Led Zeppelin’s Led Zeppelin II exactly as you remember hearing it, note for note, cut for cut.

Led Zeppelin II is the second studio album by the English rock band Led Zeppelin, released on 22 October 1969. The album exhibited the band’s evolving musical style of blues-derived material and their guitar riff-based sound. It has been described as the band’s heaviest album and since its release, various writers and music critics have cited Led Zeppelin II as one of the greatest and most influential albums of all time.

Founded in 2003 by Craig Martin, Classic Albums Live takes the greatest albums and recreates them live on stage – note for note, cut for cut, using the best musicians. “Think of it as a recital,” says Martin, “these albums are historic and stand the test of time.” Forgoing costumes and impersonations, Classic Albums Live has found success in concentrating solely on the music. “We don’t dress up or wear any sort of costume. We just stand there and play. All of our energy is put into the music. We want the performance to sound exactly like the album,” says Martin.

Community Event - Burlington/Oakville - DEREK SEGUIN: Life of Leisure

Comedy superstar Derek Seguin is touring Canada with his hysterical new show to celebrate his 20th year as a professional joke teller. Derek’s Juno- nominated stand-up is always a pure reflection of his dysfunctional life, but naturally seen through his “slightly” twisted looking glass. This show will feature more of his hilarious stories on the challenges of relationships with his girlfriend, his three nearly grown-up children and every-day life in a mixed-up world that he finds peculiar at best. With barely a moment to catch your breath between laughs there is never a dull moment in Derek’s shows and for 20 years audiences have loved him for it, but he loves you more!

One of CBC’s The Debaters’ fan-favorites; people are often surprised at the raw nature of Derek’s stand-up… and at how short he is. If you haven’t seen him live before; come out and discover the many hilarious surprises that his in-person shows are renowned for. No subject is off limits and no rabbit hole too deep.

*Please be advised this performance contains frequent use of strong language and is intended for mature audiences.*
