Creative Learning Toys is hosting having a 500pc puzzle contest at 250 Clark Street in Powassan.

Teams of 1, 2, 3 or 4 people can register. They will be competing to see who can put together a 500 pc puzzle the fastest. 

Each team get to take home their 500 pc puzzle with prizes also for the 1st 2nd and 3rd place teams.

Watch Paddington, the famous, accident prone bear, as he takes to the stage in this fun filled comedy.

Paddington is making his favorite marmalade jam with the help of the Brown’s housekeeper Mrs. Bird, but they run out of sugar, so Paddington heads next door to borrow some from Mr. Curry. The usually grumpy Mr. Curry is even more short tempered than ever as he prepares for a visit from his great aunt who is a stickler for tidiness. Paddington, feeling sorry for Mr. Curry, volunteers to help him with his chores. Unfortunately for Paddington his good intentions end up leading to chaos, as one by one each of his jobs starts to have an unexpected outcome!

Will Paddington be able to fix everything before Mr. Curry and his great aunt arrive home?

Welcome to the Artist Life Stories speaker series where renowned Canadian artists discuss their craft with series host Cameron Smillie.

Each event is like a perfectly mixed cocktail. Two parts conversation, one part show and tell, one part question and answer and always splashed with a dash of the unexpected. Each speaker event includes two 45 minute sets and ends with a post-show question and answer session from the stage. Each artist will bring their journey to life. And, everyone comes away with the true story behind the artist.  Get ready for on-stage conversations interspersed with live music, videos and “show and tell”. Each night will be unique! Debra Brown is renowned for her unique choreographies blending acrobatics and dance. With Cirque du Soleil she choreographed 13 works (so far) including Saltimbanco, Mystère and “O”. Through working with artists (including Céline Dion, Madonna & Luciano Pavarotti) in performances, film and TV she has earned many accolades.  Winner of numerous awards world-wide including an Emmy Award for the spectacle she choreographed at the 74th annual Academy Awards, the Bob Fosse Innovative Choreography Award, and the prestigious Golden Clown at the 23rd World Circus Festival.  Be prepared for great stories that will illuminate some select video clips!

Ali Hassan’s career plans started off as simply as anyone’s: become a chef, get a food show on television, get a second food show on television, be the face of the network and have oven mitts with his face on them. But sometimes things get in the way of your dreams: like your parents’ disappointment, your family of four children and your successful comedy career. 

This show is a hilarious exposition of Ali’s journey in and out of the culinary world in which he spent 12 years. Think Eat, Pray, Love....minus the Prayer.

ABOUT ALI HASSAN:

Ali Hassan is a Stand-up Comic and Actor who has performed for audiences across Canada and internationally. 

Ali is the host of the CBC Radio stand-up comedy show Laugh Out Loud. Ali is also heard on CBC Radio, NPR and PRX as a frequent guest-host of As It Happens, the arts and culture show ‘q’, and for the past six consecutive years, he has hosted Canada Reads - the annual battle of the books celebrating the best of Canadian literature.  

Ali has appeared on the big screen in award-winning films – Breakaway, French Immersion, and as the memorable Lebanese ‘Uncle Stevie’ opposite Sean William Scott, Jay Baruchel, and Eugene Levy in the hockey hit Goon. In 2020, Ali was in the films MySpy, Mafia Inc, and Tammy's Always Dying which had its World Premiere at TIFF 2019. NATHALIE LHERMITTE… AN EXCEPTIONAL CAREER!

Singing is a real vocation for Nathalie Lhermitte. Since she was 18 years old, she has played a series of titles and albums, then roles in numerous musicals, including Starmania as Cristal at the Théâtre Marigny in Paris. She then played the role of the Queen in the play La petite fille aux allumettes nominated for the Molières and directed by David Rozen.

In 2017, Nathalie joined Piaf! The Show to continue to preserve the musical heritage and memory of Edith Piaf worldwide!
