Spring is finally here! Join us for our annual plant sale on May 26, 27 and 28th. We will be offering beautiful dipladenias, a tropical wonder that blooms all summer while attracting butterflies! Plants come in hanging baskets that can be re-potted into planters or they can stand alone. Plants are $30 each, and come in white, pink, and red – while supplies last. Proceeds will support Rayjon’s partners in Haiti and their work in renewing and transforming of lives!

Simply Sondheim, a celebration of one of Broadway's greatest composers will present an overview of the life and music of Sondheim. Local musicians accompanied by Devon Hansen will perform. The concert will be presented to live (85 William Street S.) and virtual audiences. Tickets are not required. This is one of the 21 rallies in Ontario on May 1st. Ontarians are looking for a Province where the government really cares for them; where the societal gaps laid bare by the pandemic are corrected once and for all.

Mario Spagnuolo (interim President of WDLC ) will be joined by ordinary citizens and activists at the mic. Speakers will cover such issues as the Environment, Disability Rights, Racism, Equity & Inclusion, Poverty, Supportive Housing, Frontline Workers, Patient Care, and Education.  There will be speeches, music, and poetry.

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) is hosting a virtual recruitment fair on Saturday, May 7, 2022 to recruit caring professionals to join our hospital team in a variety of positions and care areas.

Anyone interested in virtually dropping in to the recruitment fair between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. is required to pre-register by Thursday, May 5, 2022 including submission of a current résumé at www.mahc.ca/jobfair/.

Potential recruits will be interviewed on the spot for disciplines including Registered Nurse and Registered Practical Nurse positions, as well as Respiratory Therapists, Laboratory Technologists, Laboratory Technicians, Medical Radiation Technologists and Ultrasound Technologists.
