The onset of the COVID pandemic in March 2020 closed down activities of the Belleville Choral Society (BCS).  In November of 2021, a small group of former choristers began the process of restarting the choir.  There has been considerable interest with some 45 names on the current mailing list.

In order to continue the process, there is a need to install an official board of directors elected by the membership at a general meeting.  Paying a member registration fee of $2.00 will qualify attendees to vote on nominated candidates.  Those who enjoy choral singing and have an interest in the future of BCS are invited to attend on Monday, April 25.

Hutchison House Museum is seeking enthusiastic junior volunteers ages 8 and up to join our museum team this summer.

Volunteer duties:

  • Serve tea in costume for our summertime Scottish Teas
  • Event set-up and teardown
  • Participate in a volunteer orientation meeting at the end of June
  • Participate in our Junior Volunteer Party at the end of the summer

Junior volunteers are scheduled 4 to 5 times over the course of the summer.

Once junior volunteers reach the age of 13 they are given the opportunity to become an apprentice tour guide. High school students may log their hours for mandatory community service requirements prior to graduation.

Being a junior volunteer is a wonderful way to meet new people, gain valuable volunteer experience, gain confidence interacting with adults, and hone public speaking skills .

Please visit our website to download our Junior Volunteer Application Form, and return the form to:  info@hutchisonhouse.ca

As government mandates have been lifting and evolving in regard to the COVID-19 pandemic, museum guidelines are evolving as well. For up-to-date information please see our website www.phs-hutchisonhouse.ca, email info@hutchisonhouse.ca, or call 705-743-9710. Museum staff are working to create an environment that is safe for all volunteers and visitors.
