First Work’s Aspire initiative, in partnership with Employment and Education Centre, is hosting a career exploration event for Manufacturing and Supply Chain Industry in Brockville.

Learn more about positions like: Machinist/Operator, Administration, Welder, Assembler, Technician, Human Resources, and Quality Control Inspector. Try out positions using CareerLabs VR career simulation equipment and speak to professionals working in these roles.

Bring your resume and network with Local Employers!

This event is open to the public with youth from 15-30 years old are highly encouraged to attend. Drop in any time throughout the day.

The Peterborough New Horizons Band will begin weekly rehearsals on Sept.12th and encourage players at all levels to come an join our band. We have been established for over 20 years working with  a social supportive group. This time we are  focusing particularly  on recruiting retired adults wanting to get back into playing a band instrument as well as looking to play for the first time. Please join For Our Grandchildren, August Meet on zoom at 7 pm. with Jacob Rodenburg, an award-winning educator, Trent University instructor, and Executive Director of Camp Kawartha.  He will help you refresh your connection to nature by introducing you to a whole suite of activities from his new book “The Book of Nature Connection: 70 Sensory Activities For All Ages”. From following scent trails and creating micro-trails, to drawing sound and creating nature sculptures, all of your senses come into play.

The event is sponsored by Eastern Ontario Square & Round Dance Association and members are hosting this all-day demonstration and information booth to raise awareness, interest & participation in square, round and line dancing in Kingston & Area


Sunday, August 21, 2022, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
Kingston’s Confederation Park – on the waterfront – FREE!

Haven’t danced in a while? Want to see what our dancing is all about?  Join us -- Basic levels will be called so the public can join in and will give experienced dancers who have not danced in 2 years a chance to brush up their skills or try a different form of dance! Come for an hour or for the day. Bring a lawn chair, sunscreen, something to drink, and lots of enthusiasm! Dress casually.

Square Dancing: 10:00 - 12:30, 1:30 - 2:00, and 3:00 - 3:45 to finish off the day!
Line Dancing: 12:30 - 1:00 and 2:00 - 2:30
Round Dancing: 1:00 - 1:30, and 2:30 - 3:00

Join us on the Capitol Centre theatre stage to find some treasures on August 6th from 9am-1pm. Most items for sale will be marked with general prices, however we are open to negotiations. We will be accepting cash, debit, & credit! All proceeds will be going towards supporting the Capitol Centre. From vintage dinnerware to movie posters – we’ll have a variety of objects ready for you to see. Follow the Capitol Centre on Facebook to see sneak peeks of some of the items available!
