TED stands for “Technology, Entertainment, Design”. TEDTalks are short, powerful presentations that share knowledge and ideas on a wide range of topics.

During this three-part series, we will gain an understanding of how these talks can add value to our lives and benefit our health. The three-part series will cover the “15 Best TED Talks of All Time”.

Bring a friend and come to Athens United Church for their homemade Soup/Sandwich/Dessert Lunch on Friday, March 28 from 11am to 1pm.  You will have a choice of 3 types of sandwich and at least 5 types of soup and a wide variety of dessert. Tickets are $10 at the door with proceeds going to the work of the church located at 17 Church Street, Athens.. 

Come out to Athens United Church Friday, April  25 for your choice of homemade soups, sandwiches and desserts from 11am to 1pm.  This popular lunch has been held for over 15 years with the proceeds going to outreach and the work of the church.  But it is mainly a great spot to share a delicious lunch with friends.  Lunch is $10 at the door. Takeouts available.  

Elvis tribute artist, Garry Wesley, to perform at the Athens Joshua Bates Centre on Saturday, May 3rd 7pm. Garry has toured world-wide and won a Heart of the King Lifetime Achievement Award. He performed for 36 years on Beale Street, Memphis and had a Santiago Chile concert aired via satellite around the world. With Garry will be Donna Brooks singing Patsy Cline and Tammy Wynette songs. This event is being brought to the Joshua Bates Centre by members of Athens United Church. 

March 28th at 11:30 am, 770 Lakeshore Road, Sarnia.  Join us for Irish stew, dessert and beverage.  Free will offering for our Feed the Hungry initiative.  Call  519-542-2253 or email office@stgilessarnia.ca by March 26th to reserve your spot.

“CARE, COMPASSION, COMMUNITY”, presented by Maria Muscadere, Director of Fund Development & Community Relations for St. Joseph's Hospice. Thursday March 27th at 7 pm, 700 Lakeshore Road. For those who wish, there will be a free will offering for the Hospice.
