Belleville Public Library is pleased to welcome Nikki Auten, an instructor in the FNTI's Bachelor of Arts and Science Indigenous Sustainable Food Systems program. Nikki will discuss approaches to sustainable land use prior to the arrival of European explorers and settlers to the Americas, including the intentional relocation of plant species and the maintenance of habitats and ecosystems for the sustainability of all life forms, not only humans.  Nikki will bring these ideas into contemporary context and discuss what is happening in Indigenous communities to continue to steward and regenerate the land and give back for all she has given us to sustain humans over millennia.

Listen to Nikki at the library or watch a live streaming of the talk on Facebook. To join us in person, email infoserv@bellevillelibrary.ca or call (613) 968-6731 x 2037 to register. All in-person attendees will be required to show ID and proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (2nd dose of vaccine must have been taken at least 14 days previous to the event).
