REAL's new Tool Library at the REAL Deal Store launched October 1.  Borrow from our collection of tools for your home fixit or renovation projects.   Memberships are $45 a year, or $25 for six months.  See our website www.REALaction.ca for a lit of tools available.  Lending period is one week, e,g. Thursday to Thursday.  Pickups and returns should take place 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Wed. through Saturday, but you can make reservations by phone up to 5 p.m. or by email:  ToolLibrary@realaction.ca.  Volunteers also welcome!

REAL is hosting a fall online auction November 1 -13, our big fundraiser for the year!  We’ve already got 60 items set aside and are looking for some more great stuff for you to bid on.  You just set up an account with 32Auctions, and log on to to view the items.  Bidding can begin November 1.   At 9 p.m. on Sat. Nov. 13, the bidding will close, and those with the highest bids get to purchase some terrific items.  Winning bidders will need to stop by the REAL Deal store, 85 William St. W., Smiths Falls  November 17-20 to pay for and pick up their treasures.  Support environmental action in our community!

Saturdays at 7 at St. Andrew's presents The Sultans of String, a band of talented musicians and three time Juno Award nominees who will perform an energetic CD release concert of lively music including Celtic, flamenco and gypsy-jazz selections. Pick up a ticket at the church office, 85 William Street S., to reserve a seat for the live audience. Current public health guidelines will be followed including masks, distancing and proof of full vaccination. Veterans' Week is a time to remember and honour the brave individuals who served our country in the past, and recognize those who serve in uniform today. Join us as we welcome special guest speaker Lieutenant-Colonel Terry Wong, Tactical Helicopter Pilot with the Royal Canadian Air Force. Currently posted to the Branch Head position for Doctrine Development and Lessons Learned at the RCAF Air Warfare Centre in Trenton, Lt.-Col. Wong brings extensive experience serving across Canada and internationally. Lt.-Col. Wong will speak about Remembrance Day – past, present and future – and help us to understand and pay tribute to Canadian veterans who have served and who continue to serve this country. ​
