Love dogs? We love them too, and rescue all who are lost or abandoned in Township Leeds & the 1000 Islands. Bring your dogs and Prowl with us on Saturday morning, Oct 2 to help these dogs!. But first, pick up a pledge sheet and ask friends to sponsor you and start collecting monetary pledges! Pledge sheets are at PetValu, Gan, the newTipsy Goat store in Lansdowne, and the TLTI Municipal Office. Or print your own from www.ganhumanesociety.ca under the heading Puppy Prowl.

Walk with or without dogs! Starting at 9:30 am on Oct 2 please register with us at the Gan Town Hall Park. The walk is a short one up King St. to the Lions Club Park & back. There'll be music, vendors, prizes, treats and lots of family fun! We love meeting your dogs! All funds raised help the abandoned dogs found in TLTI. We care for them in foster homes, socializing and bringing them back to health until they find their furever home. Most need lots of veterinarian care, so we are very grateful for the funds you raise! It's a huge help as we receive no guaranteed support from any municipality. So let's get out there and have fun on the Prowl! We are a No Kill shelter.

The village of Athens (formerly known as Farmersville) is in the centre of Leeds & Grenville Counties.  Henry and Sally Smid’s presentation will include the story of Athens and Area Heritage Society Museum from its beginnings to its continued development. The Museum has provided a variety of exhibits, events, and presentations over the years and has experienced the challenges of being a small rural museum. Innovation and technology have been a part of the COVID years. The Museum has recently begun to upload its extensive archives and looks forward to future activities as pandemic regulations are lifted.
