Active Living Programs for October for seniors 60+ available 5 days/week 

Seniors 60+ are invited to get active, make friends, be well!  Prince Edward Community Care offers over 50 online events each month for seniors 60+. Online Zoom fitness and arts classes along with socials are held Monday to Friday. In October, the Zoom webinar topics include “Keeping Nourished” with Sarah Sandham, registered dietitian with the Prince Edward Family Health Team; “Exploring the Frontenac Arch” with Terry Sprague, Naturalist; “Ease of Access Trails” with Lindsay Nash, Co-ordinator with Quinte Conservation; “Introduction to Powers of Attorney and Wills” with Diedre McDade, lawyer with the Community Advocacy and Legal Centre; and “Bingo” with Community Care staff. Curbside pick up meal – October 17th, 2024 - Sophiasburgh Town Hall

Prince Edward Community Care holds monthly curbside pick-up of meals. This event is on Thursday, October 17th, 2024, and the pickup location is at the Sophiasburgh Town Hall, 2771 County Road 5, Demorestville. Chef Bill Grieve of Wheelhouse and Occasions catering is preparing a scrumptious meal of homemade soup, a roll, roast beef, potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and fruit pie for dessert. The cost is $20.00/meal and seniors 60+ can order by calling the Community Care office at 613-476-7493. All meals must be paid for in advance. Meals will be packaged hot and ready to be picked up at the Sophiasburgh Town Halll. Only those who preorder and pay will be served. To order, or for more information, call 613-476-7493. Delivery can be arranged for seniors who require it. Orders will be taken until Friday, October 11th, 2024. www.communitycareforseniors.org

Community Event - Kingston - Canadian Walk for Veterans Sun Sept 22

Join Canadian Walk for Veterans, hosted by the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre and supported by the Order of St. George, Kingston Priory and Royal Canadian Legion, Limestone City Branch 560. The starting point for the walk will be the KMFRC at 32 Lundy’s Lane, and the event will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. This milestone event strives to raise awareness and honour our Canadian military, Veterans and their families. Kingstonians are invited to walk ‘Shoulder to Shoulder’ and show their support.
