REAL will be planting a mini-forest at Hyland Park, Smiths Falls on Sat. Oct. 5.   A little over 300 small trees will be densely planted in the area we prepared April 13 of this year.

REAL invites teams, individuals or families  to help out on the planting day.   Volunteers must preregister and be assigned a time.  Most of the 1 m squares will be planted with three trees from the four different categories.  Tree planting will start at 9:30 am, and teams will be scheduled every 30 minutes, throughout the day.

The Town of Smiths Falls will be offering a BBQ on site between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.  Come see what’s happening and enjoy a hot dog – you do not have be to be planting to take part.

To participate in the planting of the mini-forest, please email Dave Thornley.  Advise how many will be in your team, and if  you have a specific time of the day requirement.  You can also phone Dave at (613) 205-0320.
