Community Event - Quinte - Rooted in Relaxation - Forest Therapy
Forest Therapy will be led by Morgan Casement on Wednesday, September 18 at Vanderwater Conservation area and Wednesday, October 23 at Sidney Conservation area, both from 1pm until 4pm, starting in the parking lot. Please arrive ready to participate and bring everything you will need for the session, including water, sunscreen, bug spray, etc. Washrooms are adjacent to the parking lot only.
Forest Therapy does not involve vigorous activity. This is not a hike or an educational interpretive walk. Instead, you can expect a slow pace, with ample time spent both moving slowly and remaining in one place. There will be opportunities for sitting, standing, or even lying down. Feel free to bring a journal, blanket, or other items to enhance your comfort. You may also bring snacks if you need to eat within a three-hour period. Be sure to dress appropriately for the weather. Morgan will guide you through a conscious and contemplative practice where your senses are immersed in the sights, sounds, and smells of the forest.
Important: While every effort is made to ensure a safe environment, please be aware of the inherent risks, including contact with plants, insects, uneven ground, and changing weather conditions. If you have any major food allergies or other concerns, please inform us in advance.
We ask that you take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints.
This event is free and includes parking. Donations are kindly accepted and will be reinvested in stewardship, education and outreach.
Registration is required up to 2 hours prior to the forest therapy session. Tickets are limited. Event will take place rain or shine, but will be cancelled via email in the event of thunder and lightening.

Morgan is a Certified Forest Therapy Guide through the Global Institute of Forest Therapy (GIFT). She comes from a background in outdoor recreation and teaching, has two little ones at home and has spent the last 10 years working in the ski industry at Batawa Ski Hill. If you can’t find her after the ski hill closes for the season, she just might be in the forest knitting, recovering from the winter.

Community Event - Cornwall - Rotary 'Mums for Thanksgiving
The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise is offering florist-quality chrysanthemums for Thanksgiving at $15 per plant; the same price since 2010. The plants will be delivered to a local business or residence address the week before Thanksgiving or they may be picked up by special arrangement on October 4th and 5th . This is a fundraiser that benefits many projects and activities within our community.
Plants are presold by Rotary members or online https://cornwallsunriserotary.com/ Purchases can also be made by sending an email to our Rotary email address rotaryclubofcornwallsunrise@gmail.com or sending a private message using our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/RotaryClubofCornwallSunrise . For a more personal approach, a phone call or email to an individual Rotarian is suggested. Any Sunrise Rotarian will be happy to assist.
This is our oldest fundraising activity! The Rotary Club of Cornwall Sunrise was chartered in January 1989 and we delivered the first ‘mums for Thanksgiving to friends and businesses in Cornwall the week before Thanksgiving 1989 (35 years ago). These beautiful chrysanthemums of assorted fall colours come in 6” pots with a coloured foil wrap. Although we try to accommodate special requests, we cannot promise that recipients will receive flowers of a specific colour.
Here is a partial list of important projects we have been able to help because of community support of our ‘Mums for Thanksgiving.
