On January 14, City Council directed staff to work with Victory Grounds Ventures, a private for-profit corporation, on the development of a long term lease for a large portion of the existing green space at the Memorial Centre to establish a privately-built and managed soccer stadium (4,000 -7,000 seats) in the midst of a dense, stable residential area. This lease will remove more than 40% of open space from public use. The dog park, midway for the fall fair, walking paths and track, and even the cricket pitch and ball fields will be changed or removed to other locations. The diminished open space will impact residents from the three surrounding districts, and beyond.

Join us to share your views, hear from key stakeholders, and find ways for next steps.

This Town Hall is hosted by The Friends of the Memorial Centre, which includes representation from the Memorial Market, The Fall Fair (Kingston and District Agricultural Association),  Yellow Bike Action, and the Williamsville Community Association.
