Two incredible organizations, joining together to bring one COOL event to the Essex Community - The Kingsville Polar Bear Dip
A diagnosis of cancer is devastating. But in a child is exceptionally difficult. Besides the incredible toll on the child and their family, it is estimated that one-third of a family’s net income will be redirected to costs incurred during treatment. Often, one parent will have to leave their employment and financial (and emotional) impact on families can be unbearable. Childcan works to support children and their families dealing with childhood cancer.
ACCESS County Community Support Services is a community-based organization committed to supporting and strengthening the most vulnerable residence of Essex County with locally driven services all across the region. ACCESS offers a many different types of support to the community from free afterschool programs, to youth in crisis and those experiencing or at-risk of experiencing homelessness with issues ranging from affordable housing to food security.
This is why, each year, we hold our annual Kingsville Polar Bear Dip in support of both exceptionally supportive organizations. Now in its 20th year, funds from the event go directly to support not only Childcan but also Access to assist those in need in our region. The annual dip will take place on February 22, 2020 and attracts over 200 new and repeat Dippers along with spectators to the chilly Cedar Island Beach.
