The ATHENA Scholarship Fund (Windsor) and the Windsor-Essex Regional Chamber of Commerce are pleased to announce that the 20th Annual ATHENA Scholarship Luncheon will take place Friday, November 1 at St. Clair College Centre for the Arts with a reception 11:30 am, luncheon program at 12 noon and conclusion at 2:00 p.m.

Guest speaker for this year's luncheon is Senator Gwen Boniface, Senate of Canada. Her presentation is titled, "A Look at Leadership through the Rear View Window."
The luncheon will also spotlight three young local scholars who will be presented with their official ATHENA Scholarship Awards. This year's recipients are Kiara Clement, Jessica Glazewski and Katherine E. Hirsch.

Selection criteria for this scholarship program include community involvement, potential for leadership, academic excellence and inspiration to women to reach their full potential. The scholarships are valued at $5,000 each. The scholarship recipients will be on hand to make a brief presentation about their educational experience and career aspirations.

"This scholarship program reflects the ATHENA philosophy, which is rooted in the idea that by elevating people with potential and solid values, we help them to be exceptional role models," said Loretta Stoyka, President of the ATHENA Scholarship Fund (Windsor). "Inspired by their example, others in the community can achieve excellence too." Windsor is at the forefront of the scholarship program and continues to make improvements to the opportunity each year.
The ATHENA Scholarship Program is generously sponsored by St. Clair College, University of Windsor, Windsor Family Credit Union, Empire Communications, Anne Winterbottom, Loris Macor, Rotary Club of Windsor (1918), Rotary Club of Windsor-Roseland, Rotary Club of Windsor-St. Clair, Generator Design and Roth, and Mosey & Partners LLP. Media sponsors are AM800 CKLW, CTV Windsor, YOUR TV and The Windsor Star.

A smash comedy hit of the London and Broadway stages comes to Firehall Theatre in Niagara Falls. This much-revived classic offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, re-married but haunted (literally) by the ghost of his late first wife, the clever and insistent Elvira who is called up by a visiting “happy medium,” one Madame Arcati. As the (worldly and un-) personalities clash, an unfortunate incident leads to further chaos for Charles.
