Community Event - Peterborough/Lindsay - Join in the fun November 22 & 23 at Winterfest!
Winterfest is a family event highlighting the beauty and excitement of the holidays. This fun-filled two-day event brings family and friends together to participate in exciting activities and to begin celebrating the holiday season. This year’s event takes place at Peterborough Square on Friday, Nov. 22 from 9am-5pm and Saturday, Nov. 23 from 9 am- 4 pm. Event proceeds support the children and families who receive assistance through the programs and services provided by Five Counties Children’s Centre.
Five Counties Children’s Centre is dedicated to supporting children and youth with physical or developmental challenges and their families. Last year, we sold out of tickets as hundreds of people jammed into Peterborough Square. We started treating children in 1975, serving 100 children in the first year and now treat more than 4,100 children each year in five locations. We provide therapy to more than 4,100 children each year in five locations. With a wait list of more than 800 kids, we raise funds to get them in for treatment sooner.
This year, we are focusing more on children trying skill-building activities, just like we do with our clients when they come for therapy. Yes, the fabulous array of trees will still add sparkle to the mall. However, there is a renewed emphasis on kids having fun as they play games, make treasures and sing along with voices from the community. Bring the whole family to get photos taken with characters from the Disney movie Frozen between 10 am and noon and again from 2 to 4 pm, play with giant Lego, toy cars & our hockey games in the midst of a forest of beautifully decorated trees.
