The Salvation Army in Brockville is gearing up for its annual Christmas Kettle Campaign! Would you like to help give hope to your community this Christmas Season? The campaign will run from November 15th until December 24th. Watch for the Christmas kettles in local stores! They are also looking for energetic and dedicated individuals to ring the bells and fill their Christmas Kettle schedule. Whether you have already purchased FTM 2019 or are still kicking the tires, you'll get ahead of the game by getting an in‑depth look at the new 30th Anniversary edition before the rest of the world does, plus get a look at using DNA test results in your family history research. The new Family Tree Maker software will be on sale for 50% off and, as well, a free prize raffle will be held. On Thurs. Dec. 5 at 2 PM, the Belleville Public Library is pleased to welcome science journalist, Vanessa Farnsworth, who will be at the Library to give a talk about Lyme Disease in Canada. Ms. Farnsworth’s talk will focus on the research surrounding Lyme disease, ticks, and related tick-borne illnesses. With the threat of Lyme disease spreading throughout Canada, including here in the Bay of Quinte, Ms. Farnsworth will discuss how Lyme disease and tick research is evolving, groundbreaking discoveries, and how this will impact the health of Canadians.
