Glenn Stott, an excellent War of 1812 historian, will speak of his newest book, The Last Invasion: General Duncan McArthur's Grand River Expedition, 1814. Using the War Losses Claims, letters, diaries and contemporary newspaper articles as well as local folk history, it is possible to outline the day to day activities of McArthur's force of over 700 Americans and First Nations who made the last invasion of the Western and London Districts in the fall of 1814. It is possible to identify most of McArthur's camps, including at least four in the Kent County region.
