Please join the Canadian Transportation Museum & Heritage Village on Sunday, July 7 for the Militaria, Hunting & Sportsman Show from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm. Buy, Sell & Trade. Admission is $5 per adult with children 12 and under FREE. 50's Diner is open from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm serving meals and refreshments.

The County Seniors Centre is hosting the second annual Seniors Information and Active Living Fair. This free event is designed to promote active healthy living, social engagement, partnerships, independence, learning, and reduce social isolation, for seniors, their families and caregivers. The Fair will enhance accessibility and awareness of programs and services available in the area. There will be 50+ “vendors” from the community showcasing the services they offer, as well as presentations and demonstrations. This event is free and open to the public. It starts at 10:00am with activities through to 3:00pm. Organizers recommend planning to attend for the full day. All are welcome! Door prizes, refreshments, healthy snacks and a free lunch (while supplies last) will be available. Free transportation will be provided. Public Notices/Announcements - Belleville - Indoor Walking Programs
Seniors can walk in a supervised and safe environment at either of the two indoor walking program locations offered by the County Seniors Centre. Walk indoors from the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to the Friday before Victoria Day. Participants walk Monday to Friday at the Prince Edward Collegiate Institute in Picton and at the Wellington & District Community Centre. A membership to the County Seniors Centre is required. Public Notices/Announcements - Belleville - Tai Chi for Seniors September 23rd, 2019 (12weeks)
Beginner and continuation Tai Chi classes are held Mondays at the office of Community Care for Seniors, 74A King Street, Picton, through the County Seniors Centre. Tai Chi is a way to help seniors stay fit and flexible. Tai Chi is a low-impact form of exercise, but it is also a weight bearing exercise, which is an important component of managing osteoporosis. Some of the benefits of Tai Chi are: better balance, which lowers the risk for falls, less pain and stiffness, stress relief and increased calmness and sense of well-being. And to top it off, it also helps to improve memory. No experience is necessary and all fitness levels are welcome. If you’re a senior 60+ who would benefit from Tai Chi and would like to give it a try, call the County Seniors Centre at 613-476-7493. Prepayment is required, Beginner $25.00 and Continuation $12.00. Space is limited and it is recommended to sign up early. A membership is required to join Tai Chi.

The Prince Edward Family Health Team will offer a free blood pressure clinic on Thursday, August 22nd at Athol Town Hall (1685 County Road 10, Cherry Valley). High blood pressure is a dangerous condition in adults that is a major risk factor for heart attack and stroke. Blood Pressure Clinics enable you to have your blood pressure checked by a professional nurse. Register for this clinic which starts at 9:00 and finishes at 11:00am. This presentation by Lisa Thompson of the Quinte Wood Carvers Association will have an Interactive Display. This will be a beginner level introduction to the world of wood and bark carving mediums. Basic instructions on techniques and use of tools. If interest shown a 6 week Bark Carving course will be offered in the fall. This presentation will begin at 9:30am at Ameliasburgh Town Hall, 13 Coleman Street in the village of Ameliasburgh. This event is free and open to all seniors 60+.
