Explore your inner artist at a Paint Party with Luanne Hartman.  The picture to be painted is entitled “a view of the dunes”.  All supplies included to complete this 12X16” acrylic painting, with step by step guidance. No experience needed!  Limited seating so register early. This fun, simple and rustic Christmas Twiggy Star Craft is not just for Christmas!  These can be used for decoration year round, and can be made larger to create a rustic wall star to decorate indoors or out.  The craft begins at 1:00 pm following the Annual Christmas in July Seniors Luncheon ($10.00 per person for those interested in attending).  Attend the lunch or craft or both!  Enjoyable and social afternoon gathering. Light refreshments will be available during the craft.  Members free, non-members $5.00.  Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Summer Hours

Windsor’s water park (now a proud member of the TripAdvisor® Certificate of Excellence Hall of Fame) will be open from 10am to 8pm daily from June 29 to September 1, 2019. It’ll also be open for a daytime shift, 10am to 4pm on Labour Day, September 2, 2019.

Summer Memberships

Don’t forget, if you’re visiting us more than once, our summer memberships let you come as often as you like and experience a full summer of fun for one great rate, June 29 to September 2:

·         Guests under 42 inches tall: $40

·         Guests 42 inches tall and over: $52

July 3 and each Wednesday following. 10am-12pm & 1-3pm – Free of charge (Donations welcome) at The Safety Village 7911 Forest Glade Dr. Every Wednesday in July and August, we invite the community to join us for a series of Summer Safety sessions. All are welcome to tour The Safety Village and meet our local emergency service providers. First Responders will be on-site to deliver interactive classes covering topics such as Fire, Road, and Water Safety and to answer questions about their vehicles, roles and equipment. All presentations are delivered through an engaging hands on experience. Visitors can explore the miniature village on foot, by bike or in a jeep. Safety Village staff will ensure that children have a day full of fun and meaningful learning. Join us for concessions, giveaways, and meet and greets with local community champions! A very special thank you to our Summer Education partners; Windsor Police Services, Windsor Fire and Rescue Services, Essex-Windsor EMS, and The County of Essex for their ongoing commitment to our cause. Special Guests will be announced each week on our new website (www.thesafetyvillage.com) and on all social media platforms. On our first Walk-In Wednesday, we will acknowledge 2 of our long-time supporters; ENWIN and Parker DKI. Their recent donations have allowed for the addition of a Resource Lounge to our lobby.

Community Care for South Hastings (Belleville) offers a monthly peer support group in Picton led by a trained facilitator, specializing in stroke support.  It is held at The Prince Edward County Community Care for Seniors Association offices located at 74A King Street in Picton.  This connects recent and past stroke survivors and their caregivers with others affected by this traumatic life event. Discover the latest in stroke care and the updated stroke community resource information. The Town of Tecumseh invites the community to celebrate Canada Day Monday, July 1 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Lakewood Park for the FREE annual celebration. Activities include:

  • Jangles the Clown Balloon Twisting
  • Border City Barkers Dog Agility Show
  • Magic Show
  • Visit from a Princess and Super Hero
  • Bouncy Castle and Mini Golf
  • Crafts, Lawn Games, Face Painting

A FREE Recreational Swim will be available at the Tecumseh Leisure Pool, located in Lacasse Park, 590 Lacasse Boulevard from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, compliments of Tim Hortons. Admission is limited based upon pool capacity.
