On Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m., author Peggy Hallett will present The Last Olive Branch at the Brockville Public Library.
Set in Italy, Hallett takes the reader back in time, to the villagers of Carranetto and the olive industry.
Stella, a determined individual in a close knit family rose stood her ground, enduring blackmail, abuse and daily struggles, all at the hands of the harsh don. It took three generations before freedom, education and the realization that the village people had choices.
This event is free and hosted by the Friends of the Brockville Public Library.
