Come to your public library to hear author Maryam Rafiee discuss her attempts to communicate with her father during his imprisonment in Iran.

In her book, Dear Baba, Maryam shows, through letters and recordings, what she wished she could tell her father when she could have no communication with him.  Along with the news she wanted to share with him, Maryam offers her thoughts on how to maintain hope and bonds in the face of uncertainty.

Join us for this personal and heartfelt session as the world acknowledges the International Day of the Refugee.

This event takes place on Saturday, June 22, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at our Central Branch (130 Johnson Street).  Open to adults and teens on a drop-in basis.  Takes place on the second floor in Meeting Room 1.

Renovations to Detroit-Windsor Tunnel will Alter Transit Service

Transit Windsor’s service to Detroit will be altered starting June 23, 2019 due to the latest round of renovations in the Windsor-Detroit Tunnel.

As was announced earlier this week by the group overseeing the renovations, nightly closures will be in effect from 9 pm to 5 am, Monday through Thursday, from June 23 until July 19 (with some exceptions).

Please note: During the closure times, the last regular Transit Windsor service bus to Detroit will depart from the Windsor International Transit Terminal at 8:00 pm, and the last bus from Detroit to Windsor will depart from Little Caesars Arena at 8:34 pm during the Monday to Thursday nightly closures.

During special events at night in Detroit, the Tunnel will be used going to the event and the Ambassador Bridge will be used for the return trip home. Special Event Transit Service will continue for 30 minutes following games and concerts. Riders are picked up in the same location they are dropped off.

For more information on Transit Service, visitwww.transitwindsor.ca, and for information on the tunnel work, visit www.dwtunnel.com.
