Be transported to 1950s New York, right in downtown Port Hope's Historic Atmospheric Capitol Theatre!

Hailed as the perfect musical comedy, this award-winning classic gambles with luck and love under the bright lights of Broadway.
Set in Damon Runyon’s mythical New York City, Guys and Dolls is an oddball romantic comedy. Gambler, Nathan Detroit, tries to find the cash to set up the biggest craps game in town while the authorities breathe down his neck; meanwhile, his girlfriend, Adelaide, laments that they’ve been engaged for fourteen years. Guys and Dolls takes us from the heart of Times Square to the cafes of Havana, Cuba, and even into the sewers of New York City, but eventually, everyone ends up right where they belong!

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on
1562279400 1562284800

Do your crafting skills leave a lot to be desired? Are you green with envy over Pinterest’s perfect art projects?  Leave your talent and good taste at the door and sign up for our "Bad Art: Nailed It!" challenge.

Join us Thursday, July 4 at 6:30 pm at the Chatham Branch for “Bad Art – Nailed It!”.  Contestants will have 45 minutes to put their crappy crafting skills to the test and recreate our mystery project before showing their creations off in our "Nailed It!" art showcase.

Registration is required.  Please register by calling 519.354.2940 or register online by searching “nailed it” at search.ckpl.ca. This program is part of our “Adulting 101” series which provides an opportunity for young adults between the ages of 16 and 30 to come together and learn different life skills in a fun and welcoming environment.

“Adulting 101” programs will take place on the first Thursday of each month at 6:30 pm in the Chatham Branch meeting room. To find out more about programs and events at Chatham-Kent Public Library, visit www.ckpl.ca
