To participate via Zoom, just make sure that in advance, you open a (free) Zoom account on whatever iphone or tablet or device you wish to participate with and then contact https://www.peterboroughastronomy.com/zoom_register.php for the password and link to our evenings classes and presentations. If you wish to participate in person you are more than welcome to do so at the Zoo. Our “Novice Astronomy Classes” are focused on the practical aspects of learning about astronomy. You will be introduced to astronomy related subjects at a very basic level, but in a logical sequence. In this month’s Novice Astronomy Class we continue our Solar System Series, with “The Basics for a Night of Visual Observing”. Shortly after 7:00 p.m. we will have a presentation by our Vice-President, Brian Colville on the Sun and our “Current Solar Cycle”. Brian spends a lot of time and energy studying and imaging our closest star. Prepare to be amazed at the information and images that Brian will present in his talk about what the Sun is doing and what it is showing us as it ramps up to the next Solar Maximum in its eleven year Solar Cycle.

What is a Jazz Rent Party?

Back in the old days a very good excuse for a party, if one was needed, was to hold a 'RENT PARTY': a few seats here and there, room for a little socializing, and something to nibble on or sip between conversations, all helped keep the wolf from someone’s door at the same time.

Nelles Manor Museum is having a RENT PARTY on Saturday April 5 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and you’re invited. JazzLab trio will be playing songs from the Great American Songbook, great music for any party. Come dressed in 20s or 30s style and join the celebration. Refreshments will be served.

Tickets are $45 per person and are on sale on Eventbrite or at Nelles Manor Museum.
