Twenty-three international teams are coming to Peterborough Aug. 1 to 10 for the World Lacrosse championships for women under age 19. Eight of those field lacrosse teams need guides to help them find their way around town.
Tournament organizers are seeking English-speaking liaisons for teams from China, Hong Kong, Israel (knowing Hebrew would be an asset), Kenya and Uganda. They also need volunteers who speak Japanese, Mandarin and Spanish to support teams from Japan, Chinese Taipei and Puerto Rico respectively.
Additional volunteers are also required for First Aid, physiotherapy, communications, setup, takedown, ticket-taking, sales and other duties. A police check is required; there is no fee for Peterborough-area residents.
