The Department of Political Science and Niagara Action for Animals present Camille Labchuk, Animal Rights Lawyer and Executive Director, Animal Justice.  Date: Tuesday November 6th from 7pm South Block 204 Brock University.  Camille's talk is "The Rise of Animal Rights Law in Canada".  Most people are outraged by stories about animal abuse, yet paradoxically, Canada has the worst animal protection laws in the western world. But with animal issues currently grabbing news headlines, it has become impossible for the legal system to ignore their suffering. This talk will explore the legal status of animals in Canada and how each of us can play a role in improving the laws protecting them.
