Written by Michael and Susan Parker and Directed by Rob Goslin, it is a hilarious farce just in time for spring. Luke James, on his first CIA assignment is charged with keeping a secret meeting in a safe house secure. The meeting is between a representative of the US State department and a representative from an oil rich group of islands. No one knows who the islands representative is so, Luke's work is cut out for him. Unfortunately his methods and skills are left wanting and he is more of a danger to himself than any one else in the house. Add to this an ex-marine caretaker with no security ID, a sexy neighbour seeking shelter, an evangelical preacher and his niaive assistant and let the fun begin.

Breakfast of Champions brings engaging, thought provoking speakers to Windsor-Essex to explore mental health and wellness in today’s society, to bring greater awareness and understanding, and to support the programs and services of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch.
2019 KEYNOTE SPEAKER: STEVEN PAGE
Steven Page speaks passionately on a twofold approach to promoting mental health as a society: increasing awareness and decreasing stigma.
“We sustain this stigma ourselves,” he says. By not talking about our mental health issues, and thinking them a source of shame, we dissuade people from reaching out and seeking help.
“Sadness, grief, those are all things we all deal with,” Page says. “The healthy brain processes it and learns to cope with it and overcome it. Sometimes the sick brain gets stuck in it.”
In his compelling talk, Page reminds us that anyone (even our favourite musicians) can suffer from mental illness, and that everyone has a role to play in ending the stigma.
An intelligent, honest and witty speaker, Page also performs during his presentation, treating the audience to songs he has written throughout his career that speak to the topic.
What's Up, Cupcake? CUPCAKES! All through March. It's a community-wide fundraiser where we invite you as individuals or businesses to bake some cupcakes, any kind you like, and share them with friends and colleagues. For a small donation (suggested $2) to our no-kill humane society you can reward people with a tasty cupcake. Heaven knows we need some treats about now! Collect your donations and submit to our shelter at 85 Hwy 32 just north of the 401 (613-382-1512) and please give us your name and contact so we can thank you. Your donation might seem tiny, but when lots of individuals, businesses and groups in the community jumps in, it's huge! This year we're aiming for $5000.00.
If you're not into cupcakes, bake a treat you like - cookies? brownies? to share. All funds received stay at our shelter to care for our shelterlings, whom we love and try our best to find wonderful new forever homes for. Our success rate is great!
