Twice each year, volunteers scatter throughout parks, trails, walkways, and main street boulevards with recycling and garbage bags, collecting litter. Starting at Mick & Angelo's Restaurant at 9:00 am, volunteers can pick up their cleaning supplies and instructions. This event is rain or shine. Volunteers are asked to register online to participate.

Discover how to thaw your frozen feet and end the cycle of hardship, pain and abuse. Author Joanne Brennan will be at the Brockville Public Library on Saturday, March 30, at 2 p.m. to present her talk and promote her book, How To Thaw Your Frozen Feet. Book will be available to purchase. The Friends of the Brockville Public Library present this event free of charge.

Local residents, businesses, and schools are encouraged to plant native trees to help restore health to our urban environment. For only $5.00 each, the following native seedlings can be purchased: Eastern Hemlock, White Pine, Red Oak, Tulip, & Bitternut Hickory. Residents can pre-order 5 to 25 seedlings with prepayment at the MacBain Community Centre or the Gale Centre from April 1st-23rd.

Community Event - Niagara - Arbour Day with The Park in the City Committee

The Park in the City Committee will celebrate Arbour Day with the Chippawa Lions Club, various students, and local volunteers who will help plant 50 native trees at Chippawa Lions Park. The location chosen was recently devastated by the Emerald Ash Borer. Thank you to the Rotary Club of Niagara Falls Sunrise, Niagara Peninsula Energy Inc. and Land Care Niagara for contributing.
