The 10th annual art exhibit and show from Waterside Art Group, aptly named Renewal, opens to the public on Friday 24th May at Summer & Grace Gallery, Lakeshore & Allan St. in Oakville.
The Waterside artists, some of whom have painted together for over 15 years, meet each week to paint at the Oakville Galleries Studio in Gairloch Gardens. This group of 20 have been hosting their annual exhibit & sale each spring at Gairloch and wanted a change in 2024. “The Summer & Grace Gallery and event space is a wonderful venue for us and the Waterside Art Group is happy to have their professional assistance in hosting our show” agree Priti Girgla and Barb Clausi, long-term members and former show managers.
“Our 2023/24 season has been rejuvenated with new classes, private instructors and some new members. Choosing the theme of Renewal for this year’s show was straightforward - we're excited to share new paintings. Taking this step to work with a trusted professional gallery in the heart of our community allows us to create a new experience for our collectors and allows the opportunity for a preview reception, which we know they'll appreciate. Peterborough Humane Society is holding their first ever PHS 50/50 Lottery! And as part of the inaugural PHS 50/50 Lottery, individuals will have the additional opportunity to win two beautiful patio chairs (donated by Loll Designs & Stony Lake Furniture Co and estimated value over $1,700) through Owen's 'Ruff'le!!!
PHS is launching their PHS 50/50 Lottery and Owen's 'Ruff'le on Owen's birthday, March 13. Ticket sales close on April 17 at 12 pm, with the draw occurring at 1 pm on April 17.
Funds raised through the PHS 50/50 and Owen's 'Ruff'le will support the incredible work performed every day at Peterborough Humane Society, providing love and care to animals in need.

Looking for a fun activity for this upcoming PA Day Hutchison House Museum will host a solar eclipse themed Day Camp on April 8, 2024 from 9:30-12pm. Children will create a variety of eclipse themed crafts as well as decorate a pair of solar eclipse glasses that meet the international ISO 12312-2 standard and are approved by the American Astronomical Society. Children can then use these glasses for viewing the solar eclipse later in the afternoon. Cost per child is $25. Children are required to bring their own peanut free snack. Registration is required.
