The Kingston & District Branch of the United Empire Loyalists’ Association of Canada invites anyone interested in Canadian history to their next meeting. The speaker will be Mr. Jay Young from the Archives of Ontario, speaking about Family Ties: Ontario Turns 150: Stories of four family groups in Ontario at the time of Confederation. Public Notices/Announcements - Chatham - Dresden Branch CKPL Renovation Notice
Dresden Branch of CKPL will be CLOSED from October 1 to October 8 for a fresh coat of paint!
Programs normally offered during these weeks will be cancelled. Loan periods for Dresden patron’s accounts will be adjusted accordingly. Holds will also be extended until the branch reopens.
Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday, October 9, 2018.
Plan ahead, stock up, or download from our virtual library – it’s open 24/7. All other branch locations will be open at this time.

Public Notices/Announcements - Chatham - Household Hazardous Waste Day - September 15
Residents who have household hazardous waste can safely dispose of the material at no charge at three locations Saturday, September 15th.
On that day, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. municipal public works garages in Chatham (25 Creek Rd), Ridgetown (13337 Reeders Line) and Wallaceburg (600 Gillard St.) will be open to receive household material.
Household Hazardous Waste Day is a joint project between Chatham-Kent and Waste Connections of Canada’s Ridge Landfill and is designed to ensure hazardous material is not placed in garbage containers where it could possibly injure collection workers or cause environmental damage.
Materials must be in clearly labelled, sealed containers no larger than 20 litres. Containers will not be returned. Different products cannot be combined and the maximum quantity accepted is 50 litres in total.
Acceptable materials include pool chemicals, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, gasoline, paint, oil, batteries, propane cylinders (max. 30lbs) and biohazardous needles. For a full list of acceptable material, visit www.chatham-kent.ca or call (519) 360-1998.
