Wallaceburg Branch of Chatham-Kent Public Library will be hosting Let’s Talk Science: Crime Lab on Thursday, August 23 at 2:00 pm. 

Students age 8 and up will hone their investigative skills by working in teams collecting data, identifying patterns and analyzing results to solve a mystery.  Techniques include chromatography, fingerprints and chemical analysis. Registration is required as space is limited.

Rev. Lilian Patey will be hosting a healthy Palestinian cooking lesson and lunch on September 15 at 11 a.m. at Central United Church, corner of Brock & George Sts., Sarnia.

Come out and learn how to cook traditional Palestinian dishes. Then enjoy the delicious lunch.

Cost: $25 - includes lesson and lunch

There are only 12 spots available, so register and pay early. Proceeds will be donated to our Palestinian widow.

Community Event - Niagara - 2nd Annual Niagara GO21 Walk

This walk is for inclusion and awareness of Down Syndrome and your local Down Syndrome community. We are raising money to support our parents and families in connecting with each other through speakers series, events for the families, new parent information and  helping to send families to conferences where they are able to connect and learn from others about Down Syndrome and supporting there loved one to be included and live a productive life.

The event is being held at Heartland forest. There will be Bouncy Castles, Food Truck, Face Painting a DJ Party, Swag bags for the kids as well as Raffles with Prizes including River Lions Tickets, Ice Dogs Tickets and a night at Great Wolfe Lodge among others. Tickets will be 3 for 5 or 5 for 10.

There will be a 2 day giant book sale at the Garden Hill Branch of the Port Hope Public Library, 3609 Ganaraska Road (next to Alex Carruthers Park) on Tuesday, August 21 from 1-7 pm and on Wednesday, August 22 from 10 a. to 2 pm.
